5 (Durable) Best Harnesses for Dobermans Pinscher

If I somehow landed myself at the pearly gates and was made to choose a canine of my choice through an array of breeds, my undoubtful preference would be a Doberman.

Because I am certain, in a life-and-death situation my beloved Doberman, which I have named Phoenix, will always be there for me no matter the circumstances.

Since, their protective and aggressive nature speaks volumes especially if you groom and train them appropriately, making them a robust powerhouse.

However, to keep such untapped raw torque and power in check, I would rather deem a harness more than a necessity because otherwise, you wouldn’t be able to overcome their ferocious nature.

Taking that into account, if you are looking to own a Doberman or already have one at your house, and want to tame such an intelligent species, I would encourage you to take a look at the best harnesses for Dobermans Pinscher that will change the way you control them.

My List of Most Reliable Doberman Harnesses

Ready to unpack the comprehensive list?

1. ICEFANG – Tactical Dog Harness for Doberman

Features

  • 1.43 lbs
  • Supports Hook & Loop Panel
  • 5 Adjustable positions

My premier picks for those individuals that only want the best of the best with no compromise. My Doberman had loads of fun when wearing this harness, here is my thorough review of it.

Comfortable & Reliable

I had used scores of harnesses in the past and they all seem to have one thing in common, which is lack of reliability.

When dealing with such reactive breeds as a Doberman, it’s wise to use a harness that has its buckle made out top of line metallic material because the constant pulling will no doubt wear it out.

However, after using the ICEFANG harness for the past six months, I am fairly confident in this product to conclude it is one of the finest harnesses as it has an aluminum D-Ring placed on its back as well as its neck region.

I even bought a bungee leash since it was durable and much compatible with this harness and there was barely any pulling or choking of my dog especially while I was out on the walk.

The harness I previously used, which was from a local company, used to result in shedding issues. It’s important to note that Dobermans are a single-coated breed, which means they have “fur” instead of dog hair, so they shed a lot. Therefore, a regular harness might lead to shedding problems. However, with this specific harness, you won’t need to worry about shedding or hair tangling.

ICEFANG Harness Comfort

This specific harness takes into account the unique coat characteristics of Dobermans, ensuring a shedding-free experience while keeping your dog comfortable and well-supported.

Tough Handle

I even adore the fact that the top handle is also made from top-of-the-line 1050D nylon which feels pretty solid and has remarkable integrity as it barely stretches even under heavy torque applied by the dog.

The best part is that even though the fabric material isn’t made from typical Kevlar, it could still be hand washed with minimal effort, something you should be on the lookout for especially if you are living alone.

ICEFANG Handle

Why Do I Recommend The ICEFANG Harness?

The harness quality is undoubtedly one of the best and could easily withstand pressure from such an energetic breed. On the flip side, it’s also quite escape-proof, so even a cunning species couldn’t break out free from it.

What Makes it Different from its Competitors?

It’s quite easy to use and fits perfectly on my Doberman, the double-sown fabric might feel stiff but it never irritated the skin. Moreover, this harness is so comfortable that can even be used for dogs with back problems.

Pros

  • Extremely comfortable
  • Amazing price-to-value ratio
  • True to size

Cons

  • Nonbreathable fabric

2. BUMBIN Tactical Dog Harness

Features

  • 1.06 lbs
  • Dual D-Ring system
  • Supports Molle System

The BUMBIN tactical harness is an undisputed contender in the list for whole or ground-shattering reasons, making it eligible for being the best value harness in the list. Here are my two cents about it.

Triple Padding Material

With the BUMBIN tactical harness in my arsenal, I made my phoenix feel like an absolute king since the harness has ample upholstery, which is more than enough to keep him cozy and well-secured at all costs.

Even though reliability and control should be everyone’s priority, comfort and leisure for your best friend shouldn’t be overlooked.

The inner padding has a nice thick sponge to compensate for stretching on the dog’s body while the outer layer is incorporated with a breathable mesh-like design which also is extremely reflective even in the evenings.

BUMBIN Padding

An All Rounder

Initially, when I first tried grooming my Doberman, I had a weird habit of lunging in the park toward other pets or even toy balls.

It got so annoying to the point that I had to stay vigilant at all costs to ensure it didn’t run away from me.

Although strenuous training and grooming were very involved in its upbringing, a harness that could prevent pulling was a much-needed necessity for me.

After hours of surfing the internet, this particular harness caught my attention as it has not just one but two D-Rings, located at the rear and the back respectively.

So I took matters into my own hands, hooked the matching leash, and used the front D-Ring during a jog, and from that day onwards I never had issues regarding pulling.

Now, whether I take my Canine on a hike or simply stroll Through the park, I know very well my muscular hunk is going to behave.

Why Do I recommend the BUMBIN Tactical Dog Harness?

The harness hits the sweet spot by keeping the comfort ratio balanced along with the breathable aspect of the fabric.

And that’s exactly the reason why I have mentioned this harness, especially for the Doberman breed which requires regular exercise throughout the day, resulting in sweat buildup.

What makes it different from others?

It can withstand force up to 2000N, implying it has cutting-edge resilience all while keeping a breathable ecosystem for the dog’s anatomy.

Pros

  • Lightweight
  • Durable & Resilient
  • Well padded vest

Cons

  • Not ideal for smaller dogs

3. Supet No Pull Dog Harness for Doberman

Features

  • Dual Metal Snap Hook
  • 4 Adjustable Straps
  • Breathable Nylon fabric

A vibrant harness with a matching leash, it’s a total head-turner once you take your dog out for a walk.

Padded Top Handle

Before you dive into my experience with this harness, I would like to point out the amount of attention to detail spent in this harness.

At first glance, it sort of looked like an ordinary harness with nothing special out of the box but after carefully examining it’s every nook and cranny, I found out it has a vertical top handle.

Unlike other harnesses which tend to have smaller, stiff handles which chock the neck of a canine, this one had a different approach towards it.

Henceforth, it allowed me to Carry my bulky doberman from my car single-handedly without harming or squeezing the life out of it.

My phoenix wiggled with joy, there was barely any stress on its spine or rear legs while I was carrying it and the top handle was also soft enough to keep my palm comfortable throughout my use.

Fully Adjustable Sliders

The harness in itself offers tons of sliders for each strap, which luckily happens to be quite adjustable.

This gives me complete peace of mind since the harness can be made snug fit especially if you feel like your dog would escape through it anytime soon.

Why Do I Recommend the Supet Doberman Harness No Pull?

My reason for the recommendation is pretty simple, unlike other harnesses, this one comes in a vibration array of colors, making it an ideal choice in case you want your dog to blend in with the type of party you are bringing it in.

However, being vibrant doesn’t mean it’s a slouch either, the fabric quality of this thing can withstand quick lunges exceptionally well.

What makes it different from others?

The fact that it has a dual quick-release buckle system, dual metal hooks as well as its own matching leash, makes this deal far better than any I have ever seen.

Pros

  • Comes with a matching leash
  • Has 3M reflective lining
  • Easy to adjust

Cons

  • Has some fraying after washing

4. WINGOIN Doberman Dog Harness

Features

  • 1000D Nylon Fabric
  • Quad Quick release system
  • Dual D-Ring
  • 1.3 lbs

The Wingoin pink tactical dog made my Doberman feel like an absolute king, it’s so good that I had to buy two of these.

Size Measurements

The reason why I had to buy this immaculate harness twice is due to a size measurement fault that happened to be on my end.

When I first got my hands on my Doberman, it was chunky and small and even though racking up quite an expertise on dog breeds, I failed to notice its metabolism rate and how well it grew throughout the months.

When I was 7 years old, I purchase a medium harness for one of our senior dogs (a Doberman). It felt very comfortable at first but soon I realized that aspect of the vest stuck out, making my dog a bit uncomfortable after hours of use.

So, after a year or so, I had to change the dimensions altogether by investing in this harness, once again to make him fit snugly in the vest.

Once I got the dimensions right which happened to be pretty accurate according to the charts mentioned by the manufacturer, I saw a night and day of a difference and my Doberman was as joyful as it will ever be.

My only concern is that I wish it was easy to clean since dog fur tends to stick quite easily and it was a headache to remove afterward.

Dual Clip system

Now, moving on to the type of clip I had to use for my regular walks. Since my Doberman was quite a puller, I had to leash him with the front hook which prevented him from pulling and tugging since it would automatically compensate for its weight and barely disturbed me.

On the flip side, the top handle did an exceptional job of keeping my dog happy even when I suddenly picked it up.

The top handle is conveniently located and never makes my palm sweaty or irritated and the best part is it barely applies pressure on its legs.

Keep in mind that this sort of Canine breed is known to be prone to hip dysplasia and lesser pressure means more room for wiggling around and minimal chances of developing such health issues.

Why Do I Recommend the WINGOIN Pink Tactical Dog Harness?

The quality is top tier and there are no two ways about it. The handle and clip placement is also pretty well thought out and never tangles my dog’s feet, which was an unfortunate case with my previous dog.

What makes it different from others?

It’s a heavy-duty harness, only to be used in extreme scenarios where your dog is not behaving well or it’s going through its grooming phase.  It’s more than enough to put a stubborn dog in line.

Pros

  • Decent color scheme
  • Comfortable & breathable
  • Decent top-handle quality

Cons

  • Requires higher maintenance as it isn’t easy to clean

5. Auroth Tactical Doberman Harness

Features

  • Nylon oxford fabric
  • Supports Molle System
  • Quad Adjustable Metal Rings
  • 14 color schemes

At last, my final pick is a military-grade harness design to captivate and accommodate canines of all sorts, ages, and sizes. I have tried this on a couple of deep-chested dogs other than Doberman and it worked like a charm. Wait till you hear about its amazing properties.

Reflective Strips

My phoenix is quite a barker and keeping indoors in my apartment is always a “No-No” for me because it can be irritating, both for me and my neighbors.

So, I often tether it in its own mini dog house in my yard where it plays and pounces around with complete joy.

However, keeping my canine outdoors also brings a couple of worries to me and that is safety hazards.

To prevent such mishaps, I had to buy a vest with reflective lining, luckily for me this tactical vest caught my attention in due time and I couldn’t feel more complete.

It’s a perfect dog accessory that not only gives me complete peace of mind but it also ensures my dog stays visible to intruders and other pedestrians at all times.

Metallic Quick release system

Since it’s an outdoor vest, the quick-release buckles also happen to be made from metallic alloy which is fortunately rust-proof.

This prolongs its lifespan because there isn’t a day in the week when my phoenix would often find itself completely sogged in mud or water after a playful routine.

Why Do I recommend the Auroth Harness?

The harness makes getting in and getting out feel like a piece of cake and even if you aren’t really experienced with being a pet parent, using this cozy harness would be an issue.

What makes it So different?

It highly caters to those individuals that like to keep their dogs outdoors most of the time. The fabric has double stitches to compensate for rough exercise and the buckles are made from metal to keep its integrity intact.

Pros

  • Comes with Velcro patch for DIY Tags
  • Easy to place on
  • Outstanding buckle quality

Cons

  • Not for summer use

Some of these harnesses listed above are really worth the penny, as the results they have yielded have made a world of a difference and I don’t really see myself breeding and controlling my dog without them.

Nevertheless, even though the Dobermans harnesses are up for display along with my review, I would still indulge you to bookmark this article as I tend to have a keen eye for newer products along with their price drops so that my beloved readers can be catered to the fullest.
